An industrial facility for the extraction of the minimal fraction of oil from pomace or crusched olive pulp through physical or chemical procedures. The extracted oil fraction is used for the production of olive-residue oil.

Many pomace extraction facilities refuse to work with these materials because the energy costs of drying the pomace for the hexane oil extraction often make the extraction process sub-economical.
